I've recently taken to butternut squashes. Roasted in the oven with garlic they make a substantial meal.
I think I'll do cheesy jacket potatoes tonight.

I've developed a taste for squash & pumpkin as well. I'll try your garlic suggestion.

I think I'll do cheesy jacket potatoes tonight. I wouldn't mind trying that myself, especially with garlic. Do you use 3 cloves?

Margaret, what I do is peel, de-seed and cube the squash, coat it in a spoonful of melted butter and then sprinkle some garlic powder over it. The melted butter helps the garlic powder to stick. I'll also throw in parsley or chilli seasoning to vary things.
If you like onions, then slicing them and roasting them in the same tray with the squash gives the meal a nice sweet taste.

I've decided that just for a change, I'm going to put the ingredients on my next Tesco order for a fruit 'dump' cake. I rarely consume sweet or fatty things, so for a couple of days, I'll treat myself.
Tinned mandarins and tinned pineapple look cheap at the moment, so I think that's the mix I'll be using.

Usually just a knob of butter or cheese, but I used tuna for a change. It gave them a nice twang. I warmed a couple of part-baked baguettes through tonight, sliced them and dropped a couple of sausages in them. Often, simple is best.

I usually have baked beans & cheese on jacket spuds.
You can never go wrong with a sausage baguette; I often put fried onion in with the sausages.

Well, a big surprise this morning. McCain has sent me a new product to try out on the condition I give them an honest review of it. Whilst I can't tell you what the product is, I can tell you that it looks pretty tasty and will provide me with a FOC meal tomorrow evening.

I'm going to rustle up some veg and chicken soup today. I like plenty of leeks and garlic too. I added some chick peas last time, it was good.

Yesterday a well-known breakfast cereal maker sent me a new product to try. I was hooked from the first spoonful, and I rarely eat cereals. I've recently had jars of chocolate spread with slight variations of ingredients. I'm not too fond of the stuff, but my daughter loves it and provides enough information for me to provide them with relevant feedback. I'm off out for a couple of pints later, so something easy tonight... Jacket potatoes will do I think.
