The scheme may still go through: http://www.coventrytelegraph.net/news/local-news/daw-mill-colliery-owners-submit-11383821

I am picking up a whiff of exaggeration.

Well, I've not heard of them either!

Craig Tracey, Bedworth's MP, is giving his support to a charity supporting mining communities. The charity seems to have helped a hell of a lot of people for such an obscure organisation (or is it huge, and I've just been living in a cave?): http://www.nuneaton-news.co.uk/MP-shows-support-mining-organisation/story-28127609-detail/story.html

Can the area really afford to turn down nearly 700 jobs? This strikes me as NIMBYism. Mind you, if I lived out that way I wouldn't really want such a development on my doorstep. But sometimes we need to look at the bigger picture...

This is going to drag on for years: http://www.coventrytelegraph.net/news/local-news/daw-mill-colliery-developers-vow-10385798

I think we must consider just who is pulling his strings?

Marcus, the local MP, has thrown his hat in the ring: http://www.nuneaton-news.co.uk/MP-urges-committee-refuse-Daw-plans/story-28064131-detail/story.html

The future of Daw Mill Colliery has been discussed by the local Conservative candidate for the general election, but will no doubt be forgotten by whoever gets voted in: http://www.nuneaton-news.co.uk/Meeting-held-discuss-plans-colliery/story-26396692-detail/story.html

It's the same everywhere. I recently came across a new acronym: BANANAS - Build Absolutely Nothing Anywhere.

Strikes me as a little bit of nimbyism. The area desperately needs jobs, if the old Daw Mill site can provide them then it ought be used for the greater good.

Could be a while before everyone's happy with the development: http://www.coventrytelegraph.net/news/local-news/obrien-hits-out-new-plans-8205925

I was really surprised when I read the article. Closed collieries and their communities are usually left to rot for decades before someone decides to do something with them.
