Hard to have a shred of sympathy for them isn't it?

I struggled to shed a tear for their ruined lives.

Nothing really surprises me these days, but the reason behind such acts really puzzles me.

Why did they behave in such a way? How could they care so little for a child's life?

It's sickening , 30 years isn't enough for these soulless creatures. Having a child obviously interfered with their filthy dabauched, depraved, vacuous, pointless lives. Animals rear their young better than they did.

Another fine example of how badly Coventry's social services are run: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-coventry-warwickshire-30809867

It's good that these things are being highlighted, but I wonder just how many of Coventry's inhabitants know about this maladministration?

Sadly, Coventry citizens will continue getting this, until they collectively get off their backsides and do something about this rotten to the core council. The local population needs to take an active interest in what goes on around them and needs to be bothered to turn out at local elections.

Sadly, I've seen this many times - both in the public & private sectors. A lot of the time, the answer seems to be that these people need to be read the metaphorical riot act, and told to pull their socks up; and if that doesn't work the front door is pointed out to them.
I've been in pseudo-supervisory roles in several jobs, and found that this tactic often works really well - first nicey, nicey; second, the riot act; thirdly tell them where the door is!

As we all expected, nothing's changed. Teachers can't be bothered taking responsibility for the children in their care: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-coventry-warwickshire-31464953

I'm sure Ed Sheeran is doing this as an act of altruism, and not at all as a publicity stunt: http://www.coventrytelegraph.net/news/local-news/ed-sheeran-joins-warwickshire-fight-8750894

Apparently it wasn't the fault of the GP either (according to the GP): http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-coventry-warwickshire-33084344

The GP concerned is my GP. I'm honestly disgusted that he's been dragged into this. He's basically a good and decent guy.

What I believe we're seeing is a deliberate fogging of the issues by social services who failed this poor child. Social services are at fault, they screwed up, yet they aren't prepared to accept it. Mark my words, we will see a repeat of this because the narcissistic social services refuse to take responsibility.

I think you might have hit the nail on the head there Mr R. The SS (comparison intended) were the responsible party, although the GP sadly slipped up on this occasion: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-coventry-warwickshire-33098413

A mother who starved and murdered her four-year-old son has died in jail.

Magdalena Luczak and her partner Mariusz Krezolek were each jailed for a minimum of 30 years for murdering Daniel Pelka.

He was starved and beaten for months before he died from a head injury in March 2012 at his Coventry home.

Luczak, 29, died in her cell at HMP Foston Hall Prison in Derbyshire. The Ministry of Justice said the circumstances would be investigated

Hard to shed a tear isn't it?

I wonder what the investigation will turn up? My bet is suicide because she couldn't face another 28 years behind bars.
