If this post is in the wrong thread please remove, I didn't know where else to put it as it concerns businesses countrywide. It worries me that Marks & Spencers will gradually be closing Branches , the latest announcement I read in the news is the Sutton Coldfield Branch is to close and the locals are devastated. https://www.itv.com/news/central/2019-01-15/marks-and-spencer-sutton-coldfield-set-to-shut-down/I do hope they won't close our Branch in Leamington Spa.

IIRC, they pulled out of Nuneaton a few years back.
Sadly, it's a case of use them or lose them. Their rents are high, their staffing costs are high... they just can't compete with the on-liners.

I don't want to buy food online, I like to see, feel, choose quality stuff.

That is the problem, Margaret.
Unfortunately, many people want to see and feel the products, then they go and buy them on-line because it's cheaper. From a store point of view, it's totally unsustainable. Something has to change if we aren't to lose the high street completely.
