I hope the negotiations won't take another 3 years with Bojo at the helm.

Somehow I think he will choose a strong cabinet and pull off the unshackling of the EU.

I'm not impressed with his selections as of 1900hrs, Margaret.

But I think getting rid of Hammond was an absolute necessity.

From what Boris has been saying about Brexit, maybe he should have been put in charge 3 years ago, we quite possibly could have got a better deal (or maybe a deal full stop!)

I have a feeling we're going to see an Autumn general election. I reckon the outcome will be some dreadful mishmash of a coalition (Lab, SNP, Greens) and if we haven't already left the EU we won't be doing so.

Why do we have to wait till October if we intend to leave with no deal? He can leave anytime , and before an election.

I think he's going to see how it goes. If we don't leave on the appointed date I don't think he'll have much of a choice but to go to the country.

If it looks like he can strike some sort of deal, he'll go to the country hoping to gain a majority. Johnson believes his own PR.

If we crash out without a deal (or look like doing so) I think a vote of no confidence will be called. But, there are only 2 days where this can be called prior to our departure date: the first and second days of the next parliamentary session.

My mishmash coalition was only an illustration of the absurdity of the state of UK politics at present, but I really wouldn't rule anything out from TPTB to stop Brexit no matter what. We may well find several conservatives departing and changing their alliances, and Farage is a large unknown at the moment.

Boris could just be seeing what he can get out of the EU before he gives them the Foxtrot Oscar.

Apparently, the Tories have seen a surge in the opinion polls since Boris took office. I sincerely hope he doesn't try to do a 'May' and go to the country on a whim of increasing his majority.

Hopefully, Boris will turn out to be a bit more savvy than that.

We aren't going to do a lot of preparing between now and October; it's holiday season, afterall.

Apparently, the government are preparing a leaflet (about all they will do!) letting us know what a 'no deal' means.

Basically, there is likely to be chaos and all because Treason May didn't do what she ought have done. The people of the UK are going to be left to their own devices to cope with the outfall, hence the talk of war-time and blitz spirits.

The establishment didn't like what we told them about the EU, now they will get a perverse satisfaction by 'punishing' us for daring to speak.

It might be a good idea to stock up on non perishable foods over the next month or so.
