An absolute tragedy. I await the report into the cause with interest.

Meanwhile an MP has spoken out...

Quote:
MP 'heartbroken' after Bicester Motion fire tragedy

The MP for Bicester and Woodstock says he is 'heartbroken' after three people lost their lives in a fire at Bicester Motion.

The fire broke out on Thursday (May 15) evening at the former RAF base.

Three people - including two firefighters - died, and two further firefighters are in hospital with serious injuries.

Reacting to the news, Calum Miller MP said: “I am heartbroken to learn that three people lost their lives in the fire yesterday at Bicester Motion.

"My deep condolences go to the family and friends who are now grieving their loss.

"I want to pay tribute to the bravery of our fire fighters and emergency services.

I am deeply saddened to learn that two firefighters died and two others in hospital seriously injured, and a member of the public also perished. Devastating for their families.

I think it may take a while to investigate the cause of the fire . Some neighbouring people said they heard bangs.

Petrol tanks go bang quite well, even when empty.

I had a colleague die while welding a car. He left an 'empty' tank in situ, it made rather a mess of him and the garage he was working in.

Yes, he was only a young guy and had a couple of very young daughters. Had he been a little more experienced, he might have removed the tank before thinking about welding.

Sadly, hindsight is perfect.
