I often wonder how the human race has survived as long as it has: https://coventryobserver.co.uk/news/network-rail-warns-against-flouting-rules-at-level-crossing-after-considerable-increase-in-near-misses-49092/

Boggles the mind, it certainly isn't clever. The barriers are there for a reason and they come with flashing lights and warning bells. Yet, some choose to take the risk. Why? To save a few minutes? That could prove very costly in many respects. Others do it for fun, well, it sure isn't fun for themselves or their families if an accident takes place.
