I find the general report a touch disturbing. Cov Telegraph link The term 'unidentifiable meat' is very worrying. Rat, fox, cat.... we simply don't know do we? I really think it time that trading standards named these sub-standard premises. They are there, after all, to protect the consumer. From this report, I'd also expect to see at least one prosecution. - I won't hold my breath. |

You missed out Badger as possible mystery meat. I never buy takeaways, nor would I buy the frozen stuff from Iceland. I think I'd better reconsider having a pizza now. Although Papa John's look pretty safe and clean. I usually get vegetarian to be on the safe side. |

There's only one way to know what goes into your food, and that's to buy from reputable local sources and cook it yourself. After the horse-meat fiasco I no longer trust the supermarkets with meat. |
