Never been a particular fan of Lidl or Aldi, though I have friends that rave about them.

Yes, it looks like it will all go ahead. One thing I suppose it will spruce the area up a bit.. the whole site is an eyesore at present. I was hoping they might continue with keeping the gardening section, which I often visited when Homebase was there.

I looked at a couple of properties around the building when I was looking to buy a house/flat, and Homebase wasn't an issue, but having a Lidl next door would be a whole different matter....

A discussion I've had with my daughter several times, Lex. She was wondering about buying a property next door to a nice, quiet, pub. Fortunately, she did listen to me and 18 months later it had become a very rowdy and unsavoury drug den.
