I doubt I'll see a return of the days when I could fill my tank for £30, though: http://www.coventrytelegraph.net/news/coventry-news/petrol-prices-across-coventry-warwickshire-8392465

The government could do more to help with the price of fuel. They keep lambasting the oil companies, but investigate the tax that they rake in.

Of course, high fuel cost mean that everything else in this rip-off country remains high.

Governments of all colours have created a house of cards with the economy of this country. One day it will all come crashing down.

I won't hold my breath in the hope of any government cutting duty and VAT on fuel - although George Osborne did put the duty escalator on hold (although fuel prices were rising at the time, so what he lost on duty, he'd have gained in VAT)

With oil prices dropping (and forecast to drop yet more) it's about time we saw electricity prices come down. Somehow I won't be holding my breath just yet.

It's reckoned that the power companies are holding off price cuts due to Red Ed's promise that utility bills won't rise if Labour win the election, hence them building reserves up now to offset losses should wholesale prices rise above their current levels.
