Ok it's a bit early, but I thought I'd get the 1st one in! What has everyone got planned? I'm not up to much - staying in with a bottle of fizz to watch Jools Holland.

Local hostelry is charging £5/head So I guess we'll be stopping in with a few bottles.

Yeegs, £5 seems a bargain rebbonk! My local is charging a whopping £75 for food and drink for NYE (drink being anything that doesn't include bottles off 'the top shelf!)

Yeah, but this is a grotty little pub at the back end of Coventry. To be fair, it might include a few Iceland sausage rolls as I saw them being delivered Saturday. And the drink prices are amongst some of the most expensive in the city.

In truth, as I told the landlord, I've never paid to go into a public house and I don't intend to start now.

I'll nip out early and then settle in with the good lady and a few bottles; hopefully something interesting will turn up on the TV.
