I was wondering how everyone has been coping with the recent flooding? I've only come across one road that's been impassable here in Stratford, and a few that have been flooded, but passable. |

Whilst I have no doubt there will be pockets with big puddles, even mini lakes appearing I think that by and large, for the most part, being in the Midlands means that we don't normally suffer the brunt of the bad weather. Not to say we don't have our moments, ever. It's fair to say that it is wet, soggy and unpleasant outside but it is also fair to say that compared to places like the south west who have really suffered we need to be thankful. There are some benefits in being so far from the coast. I went into town, the clouds are leaking and there are some puddles about though nothing fearsome. |

I live reasonably high up (well, as high as you can around Coventry!) and have had no problems. I used to work out Gaydon way, that could be dreadful. |

I went to OLNEY -bUCKS,ON Tuesday-cHRISTMAS DAY(and although the fields were awash in parts it didn't reach the motorways. We are very lucky here. Went to Oxfordshire today-well nearly did,- but realising I hadn't much fuel couldn't find an open garage and had to turn back home, then found one garage open in Kenilworth-please dont ask why I was there--lets say I took a wrong turning and ended up going round an industrial estate a few timesbefore finding a way out.I was lets say again mildly !!!FED UP. a wasted day. So how did I feel to get home to find my heating has packed up ! ! Then I find WOL is back and am so pleased to be able have a good moan, and yet be happy. Thanks. |

cathidaw I hope they get on to fixing your heating soon. If not you might need a bit more time hovering over the computer to extract the heat from there whilst you are logged on. Good to see you cathidaw and all the others who have returned. |
