Maybe they should be restricted to lower-powered, speed-limited cars for a few years?
The problem is that they all think they can drive (they can't!), and the assistance devices fitted to cars these days reinforce this to some extent. Youngsters also think they are invincible and immortal; sadly they are not, and neither are those who get caught up in the accidents that they cause.
There is a blitz on older drivers at the moment, maybe that blitz would bear more, and sweeter fruit if it were targeted at the younger age groups?
More police traffic patrols might also help.
