A slight sprinkle of snow, a little bit of cool air, and the country grinds to a halt.
I used to travel across the city to school. We were sent home early one afternoon because of snow. It was about 2 feet deep and I had to walk home! God knows what today's little hot house plants would have done in '63!

I'm dreaming of a strike for Christmas,
Just like the strikes we used to know,
With parcels missing,
The trains omitting,
And nurses wishing,
They were somewhere far from winter snow,
