Scottish Government HQ evacuated: Bomb.
A SCOTTISH Government building has been evacuated following reports of a “suspicious package”, police in Scotland has confirmed.
The discovery was made this afternoon at St Andrew’s House on Regent Road in Edinburgh.
The Police has confirmed a bomb disposal squad is currently at the scene.
The force has said there is not thought to be any wider threat to the public.
St Andrew’s House is the headquarters for the Scottish Government and is the workplace for up to 1,400 civil servants.
A Police Scotland spokesman said: “Officers in Edinburgh are currently in attendance at St Andrew’s House on Regent Road, following the discovery of a suspicious package, and are being supported by the EOD.
“Enquiries are ongoing and there is currently not thought to be any threat to the wider community.”
