Karren Brady: 'I’m not going to become an MP and I’m not going to be London Mayor'
Karren Brady, a star of the BBC’s Apprentice series, has effectively ruled out a future in elected public life, in a blow to Tory leader David Cameron.
In an interview, the millionaire businesswoman said she did not want to be an MP, or replace Boris Johnson as Mayor of London.
The news is a blow to the Conservatives who have been trying to persuade Miss Brady to run as an MP in 2015.
It also raises a questions over who the Tories will find to replace Mr Johnson, who is expected not to fight for a third term as London Mayor in 2016.
Earlier this month, it emerged Miss Brady had declined offers of six safe Conservative seats to fight at the next election.
