Oh lordy, I didn't know it could get that bad! Things never used to be like that, so sad that society has become so broken and fragmented.

Attacks on the emergency services usually happen when a person or victim is drunk, attacks can also be borne out of fear .
I have heard all sorts of horrendous stories of paramedics being attacked. There usually just isn't the time to use great skills to diffuse such a situation. I used to do agency work in A&E, Canterbury, where all the drunks would come in after pub closing time, some would use the excuse they have fallen and cut their head or hurt their leg, any excuse to sleep it off in the waiting area, but we did have good security coverage then. The police occasionally would have to be called in to deal with disruptive drunks.

I've never understood this or attacking paramedics. Why attack those that are trying to help?
