Apparently, they were caught doing things they weren't meant to do.

I've not seen anything in the mainstream news, but I've been told that the Reds are only flying a 7-ship this year. Apparently, two pilots have 'been assigned to other duties'. - Oops!

We do some things really well, don't we? I really think the Reds are the best. Having helped build their planes I am obviously biased. :)

The Red Arrows did some really good displays last year.

Fingers crossed for a full complement of aircraft this year, and good weather.

Many years ago when they had Gnats I was on flight-line for a display. We had the aircraft lined up facing the hangars, intending to do a swift starboard turn in front of the hangars off to the runway. The first thing you ever learn about jet aircraft is don't get behind them. We had a smart are$e apprentice walk behind as we were starting them. One (not mine, I hasten to add) had a 'wet' start and a jet of flame about 10' long shot out of the back. Never have I seen anyone run so fast; he could have made an Olympic record.

Yes, 8 aircraft were involved. They did the same display at lunchtime today, as well. Some Eurofighter Typhoons did a display this afternoon too, but I missed that due to the building next door to my local's pub garden being too tall. (I've put a request in with the landlord to have the offending building reduced in height by 10 feet!)

Lex, I saw a few shots of that (Ragley?) on TV. They only seemed to have 8 aircraft?

Oddly enough, only yesterday I was looking at some old pictures from when we built the Red Arrows.
