New community history book captures spirit of Coventry
I just love books like this, books telling local stories and remembering local events.

New community history book captures spirit of Coventry neighbourhood

A NEW community history book has been released to capture the history and vibrant spirit of a Coventry neighbourhood.

The Holbrooks Community Care Association launched Our Holbrooks: Stories From Our Past and Present By Our People at the city’s branch of Waterstones.

The publication is a compilation of local stories and recollections that aims to showcase how the community grew to include a colourful mixture of cultures and beliefs, as well as some famous personalities.

The launch was attended by Coventry’s Lord Mayor, Coun Rachel Lancaster.

She said: “This is a heartfelt collection of memories from local residents, documenting the area’s growth, shared community experiences, and a bygone time.

“Speaking as a proud Holbrookian, it’s an honest, inspiring account of how people worked together to build the vibrant community we know today.

“I hope it encourages every resident to continue sharing and celebrating our unique past.”

The book is available at Waterstones and Amazon.
