Cycleway works to see Clifford Bridge Road become one way route for nine months

Ongoing work to the Binley Cycleway will see a section of Clifford Bridge Road reduced to one lane. Work carried out by Coventry City Council contractors will make the busy road one way, heading toward UHCW, between Brinklow Road junction and the Tesco roundabout.

According to the council's website, the change will be active continually from 20 October, all the way through until the end of May next year. The lane closure marks the beginning of the second phase of plans to build a cycle lane along Clifford Bridge Road.

The scheme is one that has faced a lot of pushback, with a months-long legal battle which saw residents trying to prevent the felling of dozens of trees. The bitter and drawn out attempt was unsuccessful and the trees were cut last spring.
