Poor lady. Its horrible to think her attacker was never brought to justice. I'm sure there are may cases like this . Someone must have known his name.

Unsolved murder 80 years on
Quote: Killing of Hillfields pub landlady remains force's oldest unsolved murder 80 years on
The brutal killing of a Coventry pub landlady that baffled detectives remains West Midland Police's oldest unsolved murder 80 years on. The body of Amy Davis was discovered in a bath at the Ring O'Bells pub in Yardley Street, Hillfields, on the morning of October 25, 1945.
She was discovered by the pub's cleaner and her head was covered in blood. The 68-year-old had been beaten to death and at the time officers from New Scotland Yard were brought in to investigate.
Detectives initially thought the most likely motive for the murder was robbery because cash and jewellery had gone missing from the pub. More than 1,500 people were interviewed during the investigation, but no-one has ever been charged and the case remains unsolved to this day with the killer never brought to justice.
