A few pictures of the old College...

Coventry Live

I'm almost certain that the 'new wing' of '67 was where I was based.

The original buildings would be mid 60s. I was revamped possibly early 90s, I'm not sure if it was just a recladding or complete rebuild. It was very well known for its catering courses, many a good chef came from there.

As regards the cause, suspected arson. Four teenagers have been arrested/questioned, they're aged 14 and 15!

Severe fire in derelict building – Henley Road, Coventry

Fifteen West Midlands Fire Service crews respond to fire in derelict building on Henley Road, Coventry, following multiple 999 calls

At around 7.15pm on Tuesday 29 April, Staffordshire and West Midlands Fire Control received a number of calls about a large fire on Henley Road, Coventry.

Upon approach to the incident, initial crews requested additional fire engines to attend given the size and scale of the fire.

Fifteen fire engines, which includes three hydraulic platforms, have been mobilised and are working hard to extinguish the fire in a complex five-storey building. Everyone is accounted for.

We have had support from Warwickshire Fire and Rescue Service, West Midlands Ambulance Service and West Midlands Police.

Henley Road is closed between Parcel Road and Deedmore Road.

I spent my formative years at Henley in the EITB wing. I have very fond memories of the place.
