Most of my teachers were ex WW2 military officers. If they were typical of what we had during the war, we 'won' not because of them, but despite them! I only ever rated one of my teachers and he'd not only spent time in industry but was also interested in his pupils. The rest, I look back on with total disdain and many of them would never be allowed within a hundred miles of children these days. - A few would likely be in prison for their behaviour!

I've never had any faith in the education system. Apart from a few teachers who actually seemed to care about their job, most seemed to see their vocation as a babysitting service.

That used to be a damned good school.

Sadly, we have failed our children with these lockdown restrictions and scares. It's going to take a long time to recover from recent events. I really fear for those leaving school over the next couple of years, they are simply not going to be prepared for what lies ahead.

It's not a good advert for the school to say that they can finally teach kids properly: https://coventryobserver.co.uk/news/staff-and-pupils-at-coventrys-cardinal-wiseman-celebrating-after-ofsted-transformation-from-requires-improvement-to-good/
