£330,000 subsidy for this year. Maybe it's time to stop flogging the horse: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c9vypvy0188o

If it's not paying its way, time to stop it! Local taxpayers shouldn't be expected to subsidise this little vanity project of the council.

The festival's in financial trouble, and seems to have been for a while: https://www.coventrytelegraph.net/news/coventry-news/size-coventry-festival-overspend-revealed-30997585

It's not really something I ever fancied going to, even when it was free. Godiva is still a fraction of the price of most other festivals, though; perhaps Godiva fans have had it too good for too long.

It's still heavily subsidised: I wonder how long before the council realise that they can not only remove the subsidy but actually make a profit?
To be fair, I did read more than a few complaints about this year's event. I hope that lessons have been learned for the future.

Looks like entrance charges are here to stay, although £2 isn't a lot: https://www.coventrytelegraph.net/news/coventry-news/coventry-godiva-festival-tickets-cost-17072405

Another shambles by CCC. Had they kept to budget this wouldn't be necessary. They really aren't fit to run a bath!
Social-media scuttlebutt is that it will kill the festival.
City of culture? The only culture this city has is the type that grows in a Petrie dish.
