I've always found that you need to be very careful around Hams Hall. There are some new good roads, but there are older not so good ones. You can easily be lulled into a false sense of security.

I hope they both make a good recovery.
I'm in two minds about bikers, some love belting along and some are a bit more careful, same with car drivers.
I don't think I would make a very good driver as I get impatient even if pedestrians are walking too slowly! I can't walk at a dawdle speed. But obviously with driving etc. you have to watch the roads like a hawk.
