Ask at the registry office, they are usually very helpful
Ihad a similar dilemma 2 years ago and phoned the registry office in Jersey where she lived. They pointed me in the right direction and Idid find out that she had died, and the family had 'forgotten' to let me know. I suppose they were so upset and although we had not met for 25 years we still had each other on the christmas letter list.

Ancestry.com doesn't appear to cover that year in the indexes, so you could try the Leamington Spa Register Office or even pay a visit to the local public library and search newspapers for that year to see if there is a death notice.

Also, if he was a friend, perhaps you have a contact address and somebody there may be able to help.

i have a friend who ive known for about 6 years,, a great friend but not heard from hi for months and was wondering if he had died as he was unwell,, he lived in leamington spa and i know his name,, is there any way i can search for deaths in 2007,,in leaington spa
