Topic review - Pedestrianisation of Stratford?

Coventry city centre can be a nightmare. Bikes, scooters, skateboards...

I once tackled a mate who was a PCSO about it. He told me that the police were powerless to act because the pedestrianised precinct was still technically a road due to a planning cock-up when it was first built!

Looks like they are planning similar pedestrianising for Leamington Parade!
Dodging the skateboards, and cyclists!

Well, pictures showing tourists being squished under car wheels because they weren't looking where they were going doesn't give the right message.

Don't you just love the 'pictures' they present as to how it will be?

The final stage of snarling Stratford up completely: https://www.stratford-herald.com/news/have-your-say-on-proposed-changes-to-bridge-street-and-high-9246096/

I'm glad I moved out of Stratford; shame I still have to bl***y well work there.

The trouble is once an idea gains traction it can take a lot of stopping. People don't like going against the flow, and they don't like admitting that they might have been wrong!

Despite the traffic being snarled up every time a road's closed, some halfwit still seems to think pedestrianisation in Stratford's a good idea: https://www.stratford-herald.com/news/plans-remain-for-car-free-town-centres-9241682/

Somebody must be good at buzz-word bingo going by the number of them in that article. Aside from that, I haven't been to Stratford since all the ballyhoo over the park. I enjoyed the visits I did have but I agree about the snarl up if they go ahead with that daft idea.

And that is worrying!

A population gets the politicians that they deserve. - Not a nice thought, but a very true one!

Yep. They'll be standing for election next.

Pedestrianisation of Stratford?
There's obviously some idiots in who haven't been to Stratford since the new traffic measures have been put in place. This'll snarl the whole area up completely: https://www.stratford-herald.com/110845-walk-way-imagining-traffic-free-stratford.html
