These BIDs seem to have caused nothing but problems. I had a friend close his business down and retire rather than pay what he saw as yet another tax.

Another burger restaurant for Bell Court: https://www.coventrytelegraph.net/whats-on/food-drink-news/award-winning-burger-joint-open-26420125

A burger is a burger, no matter how you serve it up. Some people have more money than sense

Another restaurant for Bell Court. It looks gimicky to me: https://www.stratford-herald.com/105434-new-church-themed-burger-restaurant-headed-bell-court.html

The traditional High street model is all but dead in the water these days. It's good that the developer has seen a way forward but I wonder if the types of business they're trying to attract will be able to afford the rents being asked?

The developer doesn't seem to be renting out units a quickly as hoped: http://www.stratford-herald.com/102975-different-business-types-soon-call-bell-court-home.html

It's looking even less like Byron will be coming to Stratford: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-42887786

I expect we'll see a lot of this during the coming months, especially as rent becomes due. Many enterprises have not had a good Christmas period, many are struggling day to day and it will all start to hit home shortly.

2018 won't (IMO) be a good year for many of the high street names.

Well, that's one of Bell Court's tenants potentially up the spout: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-42625716

Yes, it is madness. The number of empty shops is slowly increasing in Stratford, and we don't need any more (although, the town could do with some different shops, not just chain stores).

Many developers are having trouble shifting units/offices, but we're still building more. - Madness!

Looks like Bard's Walk developer is having trouble shifting units: http://www.stratford-herald.com/80014-developers-change-plans-bards-walk.html

Yes, it's a great location. It'll be a shame if the building falls into dereliction.

I miss BHS, we use to go up to the Cafe, have a bit of a meal and overlook the river and town, it was a lovely view.
