Freya was my last dog, she was a Belgian Malinois. This is the longest I've been (apart from when I was married) without a dog. But I honestly can't face the early morning and late night walks again; especially in the cold and wet. But that hasn't stopped people trying to palm dogs off on to me!

I lost the cat about a month ago, I have no idea how old she was, but I'd had her 9 years. I miss them both, but can't see myself having any more animals. They were both Anne's pets and I made her a deathbed promise to look after them. They were also the last links I had back to her. I seem to recall you had a dog called Freya that died, and thought you got another dog after that. I didn't realise you had been without a dog for 3 years now. And now the cat has sadly gone.

What's happened to your dog and cat?

Summer just whizzed passed. The mixed weather did wonders for my allotment - it had turned into a bit of a jungle by the end of August.
