the buses in my area are charging £2 to travel from Leam to Warwick, I assume also travel to Kenilworth or Coventry for that too, I have never tried it, as I use my bus pass. The bus driver on our area seem pleasant enough, I think when they get some drivers doing overtime or from other areas can be a bit grumpy. But on the whole drivers are fine. I have had a couple of run ins with one or two drivers. One in particular who used to wind me up and was rude for a while, but these days he is very pleasant now. Another driver whom I have never seen before, started the bus moving before I sat down and I nearly went flat on my back , if it wasn't for a pole to hang onto and other passengers to catch me, he would have been in big trouble! He shouted at me,,, why did you want to go toward the back of the bus when there were seats at the front! I just said, I wanted to sit by an open window , (there was one open towards the back, and I chose to sit there), anyhow he railed on a bit, and I said nothing more to him, he did not even apologise. I have never seen him since, All this , I assume would have been on camera, so don't know if he got the sack or not. But these occasions are very rare when you get some old hot head drivers!

The customer service skills of the drivers in my area could do with a bit of work too.

I'm very fortunate that I live within walking distance of a very good set of bus routes. But I do agree, if they want people to ditch their cars, fares need to come down and the services need to be more frequent and reliable.

Consultation on Bus Services in Warwickshire
To get me out of my car, buses would need to be cheaper, and more convenient & user friendly: https://stratfordobserver.co.uk/news/council-seeks-residents-views-on-countys-bus-services-44293/
