I think it might have been a precautionary thing (ie. 'we told you, so you can't sue us'!), no flood water came anywhere my place, thankfully.

....plus traffic is going to get worse in our towns with all the building that is going on, its getting dangerous crossing roads and on the pavement cyclists have no lights at night, they just whizz past and don't give a care.

The flooding is only going to get worse as we continue building. In many quarters this simply hasn't sunk in.

I got half drowned this morning, Lex. It was bucketing down when I walked the dog (8:30 ish). I'd just got changed when my brother rang asking me to help with mum. By the time I was back, you wouldn't know it had rained. The cat and dog were both spark out on the bed with Mrs R.
I spent the afternoon on the canalside patio of the local pub, I must say, it was quite pleasant.

I walked the dog about 6:00, got soaked through. Dog sat waiting patiently for a towel down afterwards having given herself a good shake by the door. - I'm getting there with her training!

Yes, it looks a little nasty. Incidentally, I use this school website for the weather ( Bablake). In general I find it fairly accurate.
