Could be - people often don't pay attention to traffic queues ahead of them.

I use the A46 from Warwick to the stoneleigh junction every morning, the queues for the exit frequently spill over for a good hundred yards or more into the left hand lane. I often wonder if this has been a cause of some of the recent accidents.

It just seems to be a mixture of cretins who don't watch/know where they're going, maniac BMW/Audi drivers (no offence to the drivers of those makes who know what breaks & indicators are for), and middle-lane hogs.
