Hi All, Its just a joke isn't it? What worries me is that we'll see things like this footage happening. The Nova News film crew shot it last Thursday in Sofia, Bulgaria. My Daughter was there with the rescuers helping. The filly is barely 2 years old I would say and they edited the worse part of the event where the Roma owner was beating her to with in an inch of her life. She collapsed twice. They have got her safe for now, she's been micro chipped and stablised but they are now dealing with the aftermath of the legal issues in that they have stolen some one else's property and may have to give her back as animals have absolutely no legal rights in Bulgaria. The rescuers have named her Victoria and a long term home is now required. Any offers?

Not being familiar with the layout of Asda, I asked one of the female assistant of some foreign extract which aisle the yogurts were, she looked at me then turned away and continued to do what she was doing, filling shelves, then once again politely repeated my question, and asked excuse me, which aisle would I find the yogurt? again she looked and ignored , I then asked, do you speak English? she looked really startled at this question, but I still got no response. A nearby assistant came to my aid and asked if she could help me. Normally assistants are very helpful, but on this occasion I happened to choose the wrong one, she seemed like a frightened rabbit when I spoke to her. How on earth did she get past the interview!

Why ARE they allowed here to do as they wish when others who come have to do a citizenship test--big joke-- and prove they understand 'English as she is spoke.'

A few years ago we went to buy a car , advertised in cov telegraph.Only the father, Asian-spoke English--well sort of ---and the only English the wife seemed to know , was, 'Quicksave, good condition.' They had lived here for nearly 30 years.'
Quicksave good condition' became one of those family jokes, which when anyone who said it made us all roll with hysterical.laughter, stupid as it was.

Had we admitted just a few each year, it would be a manageable task to bring them up to our levels. However, with what has happened, we are rapidly being dragged down to their levels.

Unfortunately, the muppet that threw open our borders to one and all was only ever interested in securing votes for him and his party, and he doesn't have to live with things on a day to day basis like many of us do.

I totally agree with you on all levels, Cathidaw except a lot of these foreigners have no concept of community or the things that contribute to it such as waste management. There's a total absence of the infrastructure for things like waste management amongst others and hence knowledge on these things we do as second nature like keeping our communities tidy is an unknown concept. It will take years of ' education ' and inclusion with learning by examples set to instill it into the newcomers.Possibly some policing is required for a start. That costs though and I mean Council action not HM Police force action- they have enough to do.

Trying to remonstrate brings waving of hands and abuse.They should be grateful to be allowed to live here and should abide by the rules.
Most of these people come because of the awful conditions, hovels and squalor in their native country and come here thinking to do the same. One does not have to be racist to disapprove when whole streets are being changed into slums.

The concept of the charity shop is very British. My daughter lives and works in Sofia, Bulgaria and there are none. It is only very recently that the city has got a few secondhand shops by way of making an income for self gain. One can only imagine that who ever these foreigners are they are probably overwhelmed by the apparent free for all that is Britain. We really do throw so much away that in other countries would be held onto for use until it falls apart- clothes and other stuff.

Today -SundayI saw something which I have been told is a common sight outside charity shops in Far Gosford street
A group of women and children -all white and foreign-I heard them speak- scavenging through bags of clothes left outside the shops , leaving with arms full.and the rest all over the pavement when they cleared off.
Sometimes they drag them into side street to sort-leaving clothes everywhere.
