 Topic review - Johnson!

I have a terrible tendency to jump to conclusions (often wrong), and try to see the best. But I have to agree with both of you about this individual. He is someone (like the Stratford Z guy) who has achieved the unique, almost impossible feat of making British politics even worse than it already is. Perhaps he should win some sort of prize for that. For floating right to the top of a septic, rancid sump. And he has a bosom pal who went to prison for insurance fraud, and liked beating people up (now lives in South Africa). There is a sinister South African connection, btw, to J.

I am currently reading a book about how Johnson destroyed truth in politics.

Whilst Johnson is a proven liar, and (IMO) the scum of the earth, let's not forget he couldn't do things on his own. There are other forces at work that have supported this abominable human being.

The current government has wrecked the country and just hope it can be saved

My money's on Mordaunt this time round, but watch Kemi Badenoch for the future. - My bet is that she will be the first coloured PM in the UK.

Nadhim Zahawi's out of the running (shame). Looks like Rishi's going to be our new PM: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-62168579

I think it will become a lot clearer after the 1922 committee set the rules on Monday. So far I can't say any of the runners impress me, but once the rules are clear we might see a few decent contenders.

My personal view on those announcing that they'll run without knowing the rules is that they are opportunists and not really fit for the job.

For the 1st time in years, there's a couple of news stories I'm actually keeping up to date with - this & Ukraine.

Thanks for that Mr.H, I wasn't aware that was going on.

There appears to be a ferocious battle going on between the two spy agencies who run the country.
I was reading on an econometrics site that the printing presses at the Mint have been working day and night for months to print money to give to the Ukraine. This is what is causing the inflation, and, understandably public fury. But that might only be the start.

I somehow don't think it's over yet!

I'm glad he's gone, along with that harebrained woke wife of his!
Thank God for that!

Zahawi has no chance!

My bet is that Bozo will be lucky to survive the night, but he certainly won't survive the weekend. I suspect that Graham Brady will be visiting him with a bottle of whisky and a loaded revolver.

Boris is definitely not popular, and it looks like Our Nadhim is already after the top job: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-stoke-staffordshire-62061889

The S**t Show seems to be descending into a case of terminal dysentery.

I heard a clip of Zahawi being interviewed earlier; he seems to have perfected the non-answer.

Our government has been a farce since the Conservatives won the 2010 election, and has only got worse since Boris The Buffoon took over.
