Tesco are rapidly digging a very big hole for themselves with their rather sharp business practices.

We only use them because they are nearby and it's quite a pleasant walk along the canal to the store.

Tesco Fictitious Farms
I had a run in today with Tesco, as I wanted to know where and which farm/grower in the UK their New Potatoes came from. It only states on the bag, Redmere Farms, UK. A Fictitious name.
I also noticed on another bag of Sweet potatoes from U.S.A. was from the same Redmere Farms. By now curious I asked the manager where is this Redmere Farm if it produces spuds from the USA and the UK. and why can't they tell me exactly where in the UK farms/growers of these products are?

The answer below........

Tesco
Tesco Hi there -----

I am really sorry, as this is company sensitive information, we will be unable to answer your question.

However, if there is anything else we can help you with, please don't hesitate to get in touch with us.

I replied that the customer has a right to know and that Marks & Spencers state on their packages exactly where their farm produce is grown, be it from Cambridge, Kent, or Suffolk or Scotland, etc.. All the info is on their packaging, why can't Tesco do that?
