Anyone know anything about this secretive group who appear to meet in private, yet seem to have quite an influence on the local media? Is it the political wing of the local Masons?

Do you mean Stratford Voice? If so, I'm currently hosting their site. The address is http://stratfordvoice.warwickshireonline.com

They're just a group of worried enthusiasts who don't want to see Stratford Ruined by bad planning.

I suspect you're talking about something more secretive though, if so I wouldn't know where to start. What has aroused your suspicions? :)

No - its not Stratford Voice - with whom I'm in agreement,
but a group which the local media quotes from time to time - I suspect they're a closed membership version of Stratford Voice.
Anyone know any more?

We need names, I know quite a few names from SV, I'd soon be able to tell you if they're the same people or not. DOn't forget to log in when you post, just to make your life easier. :) Click the 'Remember me' button when you do, and it will happen automatically.

Here are some names
Mr Kenneth Adams,
Mrs Jenny Fradgley
Mrs Jean Holder
Mrs Rosemary Hyde
Mrs Sheila Price
Professor Ian Heggie
Dr Nick Woodward

I don't think any of them belong to Stratford Voice.

John

sounds to me a little like the Illuminati HAHA

Seriously though, it does sound similar to the Leamington Society (see my un-replied to post in the Warwick & Leamington section)

I think this is the group who are concerned about Stratford staying Stratford, as in buildings being painted nothing brighter than Grey, no exposed flesh on posters selling underwear, no drinking in Pubs, that sort of thing.
Either that or they're the one's who were recently exposed for regulary eating babies and practising human sacrifice.

Well, even if that should be the case then a subject can only increase it's coverage and when it is about proposed changes to your town be they good or bad depending on your perspective the usual method of promotion - if any - is not always reaching enough people so other groups bring the message out.

Well hopefully if enough people join SV and hear, the people will become the decision makers, as it should be.

The clue was there as to the nature of this society, but you all missed it.
